Painter -Commissions – Workshops
I am an artist working predominantly in oils and more recently watercolour. I use a loose style, making use of both brushes and palette knives. I enjoy the richness of oil paint and the luxurious finish it gives to paintings.
Having grown up in Norfolk and enjoying frequent childhood trips to windswept beaches a lot of my work is based around the sea and the special mood that a blustery beach creates. Having two young sons has provided a wealth of memories that inspire a growing body of work.
I continue to work part-time as a schoolteacher and make use of my 20 years experience in the classroom when providing children’s art workshops, I have taught adult art classes for a number of years, currently at Vitreus Art at Wakefields County Courtyard, Potterspury. NN12 7QX
I welcome commissions and enjoy working with a client to create a unique piece of artwork, often as a special gift for someone.
‘When I start a painting it is a feeling of that moment that I am trying to capture on canvas, the weather, light conditions and mood.
Collectors of my paintings often do so because they evoke treasured memories from their own past.
I am a Member of the Society of All Artists and Chair of Buckingham Art for All. I have exhibited in The Stani Gallery, Stony Stratford, Buckingham, Stowe, Akeley, Towcester Open Art, Quay Art Gallery, Padstow, Obsidian Art Aylesbury, Mouvaux, France. I have also exhibited as part of the Art Works for Business scheme. My work can be seen in The Woolpack PH in Buckingham and Vitreus Art Gallery Potterspury. My work is in private art collections around the world.
